New Company-Net Website Launched
The guys at work have launched a shiny new company website. www.company-net.com has been built on SharePoint by our very own in-house experts to prove to us all that SharePoint websites really are a viable and competitive option.
First impressions are good. The site pages are light, valid and accessible. When I have a chance to site down with the guys who developed the site I’ll let you know how their experiences compare to that of a typical Sitecore project.

I’ve just finished reading a very interesting blog post about a new tool for Sitecore developers; Team development for Sitecore (TDS).
TDS is an exciting step in integrating Sitecore with our IDE. It is a plugin for Visual Studio which gives us a Solution Explorer style view of our Content tree. The ability to serialise and deserialised Sitecore items to xml files – essentially giving us source control over Sitecore items. TDS also introduces an item relationships view in a nifty new UML style diagram – something which could prove very useful on larger projects.
To be honest I think just seeing a Sitecore content tree in Visual Studio has almost sold this for me. It’s early days for this project but it could be a very interesting one.
A trial version is available on Hedgehogs website and I’ll definitely be taking it for a spin when I get into the office tomorrow.
